Back in China!!

The 5 weeks at home were over in a jiffy and I am into day 3 of my 5-week trip to China.

I finally broke down and bought myself the new Nikon D70S digital SLR camera, and I absolutely love it.

Have started the GMAT prep, but that is still not full steam yet.
I have also been looking to sign up for the MBA info sessions to some of the schools I would like to target. Most sessions are in the Sep-Oct time-frame when I will not be in the US. Hopefully they will have more sessions lined up for Nov/Dec.

The next few weeks I have to really focus and get stuff off my plate at work..no slacking.

I downloaded Google Talk and it is amazing. My sister called me yesterday and the clarity was pretty darn good. And it has a simple interface which makes it all the more better. I have used other messaging programs that are voice enabled before, but Google Talk really rocks!! Of course, you need to have a Gmail account to use GoogleTalk, but now you can get one here using your mobile phone.

Is your work fungible?

"Work that can be easily digitized and transferred to lower-wage locations is fungible" - Thomas Friedman in 'The World is Flat'.

Yes, my work is definitely fungible and I am in a project that proves that. So, what can I do to change that? Update my skills...duh!!

Short term goal:
Get involved in a project where I will learn new skills - technical and/or soft skills

Long term goal
(Still working on this one)

Not much going on..

hence the lack of posts. Not that anybody is actually reading this blog :)

Well, I will be heading back to Zhuhai in a couple of weeks. That trip almost did not happen, but now I have to go. Also planning a 10-day vacation following that.
My sister is visitng next weekend. It should be fun..it always is.

There are so many things I want to do and this Zhuhai trip is bang in the middle of all that. I wanted to continue my certificate course at Berkeley, take a kayaking class, sign up for a photography course..not happening until atleast November of this year.

Also, I have started looking into getting an MBA. Yep, I am jumping on that bandwagon!
Looked into a few schools that I would be interested in applying to and also at the taking the GMAT end of this year.I am not sure if I want to turn my blog into an MBA-focussed one though. But I will have a few posts on my experiences through the application process.
